Cat developed our own grease specifically designed for Cat machines when we saw how poorly other grease brands performed. Our unique grease thickener gives unbeatable protection. Cat Grease products include Utility Grease, Prime Application Grease, Extreme Application Grease 1, Extreme Application Grease 2, Extreme Application Grease (Arctic) and Extreme Application Grease (Desert).
Cat diesel engine, drive train and hydraulic oils all beat industry specifications and go through 1000s of hours of rigorous lab and in-field testing. They provide the best fluid protection money can buy. There are three types of Cat oils: Diesel Engine Oils (DEO™), Drive Train Oils (TDTO™/FDAO) and Hydraulic Oils (HYDO Advanced).
Cat Coolants are designed and engineered precisely for Cat machines. They prevent component degradation and protect engine life while extending change intervals at the same time. Cat Coolants include ELC™ (Extended Life Coolant), ELI (Extended Life Inhibitor — for engines in non-freezing temps), DEAC™ (Diesel Engine Antifreeze Coolant) and NGEC™ (Natural Gas Antifreeze Coolant).
Tested side-by-side with Industry Standard Hydraulic Oil in severe conditions, Cat HYDO Advanced 10 outperformed the competition by:
Lab testing is critical but witnessing how well our fluids perform — and how much they can save — in the field where you earn a living is more important. Dealing with the unexpected in the toughest conditions is what matters.
A heavy construction company working with over 40 different Cat machines saw a significant increase in operation and maintenance cost during the time they used another brand of oil.
The company got in touch to see if we could help figure out the problem. Cat suspected the issues were created because of the use of non-Cat oils and suggested the customer to switch to Cat lubricants. For three years, the company relied on Cat lubricants and all the while a team of engineers and service technicians tracked maintenance data on fluid and filter change intervals. They also collected fluid samples to observe fluid as well as component life using the Caterpillar S•O•S system.
After analysing the data the company got $16,500 of direct cost savings because they were able to extend the drain interval by using Cat fluids. They also realized a 42% reduction in wear metals in critical machine components, resulting in an annualized repair cost avoidance of $45,000.
