The Cat® Wear Management System (CWMS) allows you to easily measure and manage the wear life of your undercarriage so you can make the most informed decisions as to extend your undercarriage life.
CWMS is a cloud-based solution designed to help you monitor and manage undercarriage performance with precision. It enables early detection of wear, supports smarter maintenance planning, and helps reduce operating costs by minimizing downtime. With tools for data collection, measurement, photo capture, and report generation, CWMS gives you clear insights into part needs, replacement timing, and fleet health—keeping your equipment running efficiently and your business ahead of surprises.
Choosing the right Cat® undercarriage starts with understanding your unique work conditions and experience. Factors like machine ownership duration, weekly usage, ground and impact conditions, attachments, and job site terrain all influence the best fit for your needs. The more accurately you define these parameters, the better your selection will support performance and cost-efficiency.
Your Toromont Cat representative has undercarriage tools to run cost-per-hour scenarios that will help you determine which undercarriage option is the best fit for your operation.
The quality of all Cat undercarriage offerings is high. Utilizing good quality materials and carefully controlled manufacturing ensure that all Cat undercarriage components are reliable and wear at a balanced rate. General Duty, Heavy Duty, Heavy Duty XL and Abrasion are not built to the same performance specifications because each is intended to work within a particular application and cost parameters. So, while the performance specifications are different, the quality and reliability are the same in the intended applications.
Like many other product lines, our undercarriage portfolio has options to meet different customer requirements. In the same way you wouldn’t buy a street tire for your race car, you wouldn’t purchase General Duty for an extreme application like forestry. The performance expectations for each undercarriage in the portfolio are differentiated, as is the value.
Caterpillar engineers design General Duty, Heavy Duty, Heavy Duty XL and Abrasion. All Cat undercarriage, including General Duty, are manufactured with Caterpillar’s consistent processes, supported by our established undercarriage supply chain and built in our manufacturing locations around the world.
The 12-month Caterpillar Limited Warranty covers resultant damaged Cat parts in the event of an applicable failure. Warranty can vary by model and applications; limitations may apply. For complete details about the applicable Caterpillar Limited Warranty, contact your Toromont Cat representative.
In addition, the Undercarriage Assurance Programs offer support beyond the standard new machine or parts warranties. They cover all major moving undercarriage components on Cat track-type tractors, track-type loaders and track-type hydraulic excavators.
