Every day we‘re held to the expectations of Leaders, Peers, and Customers; but we often ignore our own. Without personal growth, our self-expectations tend to become stagnant and mundane. We all have the ability to grow and Toromont CAT offers this opportunity through Instructor Led Training.

At Toromont CAT there is an advantage other dealerships cannot offer; in house training from Technicians who have worked in our shops, at our customer sites and alongside you. These are not Trainers who have only studied textbooks and been taught the theory but experienced technicians who have faced the restriction of a customer’s down time.

What does this mean? We use Instructor Led Training to grow our own expectations. Whether you are a first year apprentice or a 40-year veteran technician, this career is in a constant state of change. With training, we build on the everyday tasks we encounter and become more efficient and competent in our diagnosing and repairs.

Our expectation is to correctly identify the root cause and complete a professional repair. To do this we need to understand our systems at a fundamental level.  With in-person Instructor Led Training, we accomplish this with shared experiences, CAT documents, group discussions and hands-on practicals without the pressure of a deadline and the fear of making an error. We all make mistakes; it defines us as we grow as technicians. With instructor-led training, we learn in a safe environment with our peers.

Overall, without great expectations, we cannot grow and we can become self-complacent. The training department is here for everyone’s expectations. Our leaders’ expectations to have a department full of quality technicians. Our customers’ expectations to receive accurate and quality repairs. Our peers’ expectations to be safe and productive. Moreover, and most importantly your expectations. Always to be learning and developing your skills; becoming the best in the industry!
