In addition to Prime Power and Standby Power, Toromont CAT is an industry leader and centre of excellence in the design and building of cogeneration plants leveraging both the electricity and heat produced by our prime movers to increase plant efficiencies and take advantage of revenue generating opportunities. Our team includes members who are well versed on the technical, commercial, and political aspects of this technology. Prime Power Caterpillar® has a reputation throughout the industry of manufacturing durable, fuel efficient and clean burning reciprocating engines in both dieseland natural gas configurations. This, complimented by Toromont’s capabilities in engineering designed systems to meet specific power generation requirements, guarantees reliable and efficient electrical power. Single unit packages from 13kW to 16 MW can be designed for paralleling allowing for multiple unit installations. Standby Power Reliable standby power is essential for operations that cannot afford electrical power interruptions. Toromont, utilizing natural gas or diesel engines, has been supplying and installing complete Emergency Standby Systems including customized controls and switchgear for over thirty years.
