Underground mining equipment has evolved throughout the ages. While there have been quantum leaps in methods and the technology employed, underground mining still remains a demanding application for any equipment. The Caterpillar underground equipment range continues to stand the test of time in a wide range of arduous mining applications. An ever-expanding range of Underground Articulated Trucks (UAT) and Load Haul Dump (LHD) models are available for underground hard rock applications. The CAT underground articulated trucks are available in either dump or ejector versions offering payloads ranging from 27000 kg (59,525 lbs) to 55000 kg (121,254 lbs). These are complemented by LHD's with payloads ranging from 6,800kg (14,991lbs) to 20,000kg (44,092lbs).  The entire product range incorporates an integrated Caterpillar computer matched powertrain. providing unmatched performance along with advanced communication and problem identification capabilities.
